Joan of Arc<\/strong>\u00a0(French<\/a>:\u00a0Jeanne d’Arc<\/em>,[4]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0IPA:\u00a0<\/small>[\u0292an da\u0281k]<\/a>; ca. 1412[5]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 30 May 1431), nicknamed “The Maid of Orl\u00e9ans<\/strong>” (French<\/a>:\u00a0La Pucelle d’Orl\u00e9ans<\/em>), is considered a heroine of France and a\u00a0Roman Catholic saint<\/a>. She was born to a\u00a0peasant<\/a>\u00a0family at\u00a0Domr\u00e9my<\/a>\u00a0in north-east France. Joan said she received visions of the\u00a0Archangel<\/a>\u00a0Michael<\/a>, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine instructing her to support\u00a0Charles VII<\/a>\u00a0and recover France from English domination late in the\u00a0Hundred Years’ War<\/a>. The uncrowned King Charles VII sent Joan to the\u00a0siege of Orl\u00e9ans<\/a>\u00a0as part of a relief mission. She gained prominence after the siege was lifted in only nine days. Several additional swift victories led to Charles VII’s coronation at\u00a0Reims<\/a>. On 23 May 1430, she was captured at\u00a0Compi\u00e8gne<\/a>\u00a0by the English-allied\u00a0Burgundian faction<\/a>, was later handed over to the English,[6]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0and then put on trial by the pro-English Bishop of Beauvais\u00a0Pierre Cauchon<\/a>\u00a0on a variety of charges,[7]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0was convicted on 30 May 1431[8]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0and\u00a0burned at the stake<\/a>\u00a0when she was about 19 years old.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Solution to Example 1:<\/strong>

The graph of y = arcsin(x – 2) will be that of arcsin(x) shifted 2 units to the right. The domain is found by stating that -1 \u2264 x – 2 \u2264 1. Solve the double inequality to find the domain:
